David Barksdale

September 19, 1945 To March 1, 2011

Mr. David L. Barksdale, 65, passed away on March 1, 2011.

He was born on September 19, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan.

On February 11, 1967 he married Donna Scites in Ypsilanti, MI.

He proudly served his country in the US Army as a

medic stationed in Korea.

He loved golfing and was a ranger at

Pineview Golf Course in Ypsilanti.

Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was employed

as a drywall finisher in the construction industry.

Mr. Barksdale is survived by his beloved wife, Donna,

loving father of Jeff (Andrea Schultz) Barksdale

and Jodi (Fred) Kuhn. Adored grandfather of

Brandon Barksdale, Nicholas Kuhn,

Abigail Kuhn, Dakota Barksdale, Carissa Meeks

and one great grandchild, Haeden.

Also survived by his Father

William T. Barksdale of Ypsilanti,

brother Dennis (Karen) Barksdale

and sisters Bonnie (Dan) Bussard,

Candace (Hugh) Brightwell, Denise Clark

and Doreen Barksdale.

Preceded in death by his son Jamie

and his mother Mary Jane (Cosner) Barksdale.

A memorial gathering for David will take place on

Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon

with a memorial service at 12:00 Noon at the

Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home,

209 Main St., Belleville (734) 697-9400,

with Pastor Wayne Kurtycz of Northridge Church officiating.

Inurnment will take place following the service at

Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MI.
