Herman S. Davis

September 7th 1930 To October 31st 2007

Passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born September 7, 1930 in Raceland, KY a son of Oscar and Henrietta ( Sweringen ) Davis.

On April 20, 1951 he was married to JoAnn Witten in Raceland, KY moving to Belleville in 1951.

Mrs. Davis preceded him in death on October 9, 1996. Mr. Davis then married Julia Elizabeth Melvin

on August 10, 1999, moving to West Jefferson, Ohio in 2006. Mr. Davis proudly served his

country during the Korean War. Mr. Davis loved the Lord.

For many years he was a minister, serving the Belleville Free Pentecostal Church of God

and the Ann Arbor Church of God. His passion was ministering.

He loved being with people and playing his guitar and singing. He enjoyed tinkering with cars.

However, his greatest passion was his family, being a caretaker to his wives.

Prior to his retirement in 1987 he had been employed by Ford Motor Company

as a set-up man at the Ypsilanti Plant for 33 years.

Mr. Davis is survived by his beloved wife; Elizabeth Davis of West Jefferson, OH.

Dear father of William “Randy” ( Shirley ) Davis of Northville, Gary Davis of Belleville,

Duane ( Annette ) Davis of Belleville, Carol ( Tim ) O’Connell of Indianapolis

and Linda ( Rod ) McRitchie of Belleville.

Fond grandfather of 9 grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 1 – 6 P.M.

at the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Belleville, MI

( 734-697-9400 ).

Final visitation will begin on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 10 A.M.

until the time of the funeral service at 11 A.M. at the

Victorious Life Church of God, 860 E. Clark Rd., Ypsilanti, MI.

Burial will follow at Union-Udell Cemetery, Belleville.

The family has requested memorial contributions to ALS in lieu of flowers.
